“Newborn” Art Ceramic conquers the Egyptian market

Sacmi technology propels company towards success at the top end of the market

To go straight through the main door of the high-end market and do so with innovative products, made thanks to the excellence of Sacmi technology. This, in short, is the goal of Egyptian firm Art Ceramic: although founded just a year ago, it has already become a key player on what is a constantly growing market.

The new production plant is located in the “6th October” industrial district in Cairo. Here, in this economically vital area of the Egyptian metropolis, Art Ceramic has, even at this early stage, already achieved an output rate of some 30,000 square metres a day: that has been made possible by the installation of Sacmi-supplied continuous mills upstream from highly innovative presses, which, thanks to their massive inter-column clearance, can be used to handle large-size tiles, products of steadily growing importance on international ceramic markets, especially in the Middle East.

Last but certainly not least come the 135-metre kilns, again designed and built by Sacmi,. These are largely used to produce red body floor tiles, in great demand on the local market. The outcome of the investment has, then, been highly positive, a fact highlighted by the excellent feedback obtained, just a few weeks after start-up, at the international “Ceramic & Sanitary Ware Exhibition Egypt 2010”, held in Cairo last November.
