A new PH 7200 for the MIRAGE ceramic plant

Ceramic granite: a gigantic 130x180x3 cm slab

Product innovation has always been one of the winning features of the Italian ceramic tile industry. In what is a highly dynamic moment the Mirage ceramic plant in Pavullo has taken technological evolution a stage further and come up with an innovative product known as "Ceramic Granite": this huge 130x180x3 cm slab is a world first – just like the press specially designed to produce it. That press is a high-tonnage SACMI PH 7200, some examples of which have been assembled to meet highly specific needs. Each slab weighs 200 kg. Firing temperatures exceed 1200°C and the entire firing cycle lasts 5 hours and 30 minutes. Slab measurements, the result of several years’ research, faithfully reproduce the size and thickness of natural stone and all its characteristics, such as, for example, random full-body veining. The SACMI PH 7200 press is used in conjunction with a complete plant of ultra-modern design.
