A new Sacmi/Riedhammer shuttle kiln at Vaal Sanitaryware, South Africa

An important new installation to achieve top performances in sanitaryware production

Sacmi, international market leader in the manufacture of machines and systems for a variety of industries including the Ceramics and Sanitaryware sectors, has recently installed a new shuttle kiln for the production of sanitaryware at   Vaal Sanitaryware in South Africa.

The outstanding features of the new kiln are its technical specifications and high performances which guarantee Vaal improved quality in the finished product as well as greater efficiency of the entire plant and production process.

The main advantages that the kiln offers include a working volume of 105 m3 with 10 cars designed to operate in a two-level superstructure. Each car is 5m wide and 1.5m long creating a total loading surface of 150m2. It is also possible to install another 10 kiln cars for loading and unloading the kiln during firing.

Among the benefits which are most valued by customers such as Vaal Sanitaryware are the new generation software which simplifies kiln start-up and the secondary ventilation system integrated both with the upper and lower burners ensuring uniformity at high temperatures  and efficient cooling.
