All the latest from Sacmi at Tecnargilla in Rimini

A key provider to the global Ceramics, Whiteware and Heavy Clay industries. This is how Sacmi will be presenting itself at the international Rimini-held fair, showcasing new additions to its range and major innovations in control software, logistics and process automation.

Large slabs for the ceramic industry, machines for one-piece casting and sanitaryware glazing, automated heavy clay solutions. These are just some of the new developments with which the Sacmi Group will be heading to the 2014 edition of Tecnargilla, the international ceramic, sanitaryware and heavy clay technology fair to be held in Rimini from 22 to 26 September 2014.

Playing a pivotal role for the Tiles Division will be some widely tested and market-acclaimed high-tech solutions for the manufacture of large-size slabs. For example, Continua+, is a solution that can, with just one pressing cycle, produce large slabs of outstanding quality: and, thanks to smooth integration with DDD digital decoration units and the all-new DHD1808 ink-jet printer, developed by Sacmi-Intesa, a vast range of decoration options can be applied on such slabs. These solutions will be showcased alongside the impressive PH10000 press, characterised by outstanding reliability, solidity, precision and repeatability, the latter being a key factor in products of high unit value such as extra-large tiles.

From Tiles to Whiteware: at Rimini, Sacmi will be exhibiting the AVM and AVB automated casting modules. The design of the former allows one-piece manufacturing of complex ceramic articles thanks to a single gluing line and automated control of the various stages; the latter, instead, is ideal for handling large volumes thanks to the outstanding flexibility provided by the multi-mould system. New for 2014 (the 30th anniversary of Sacmi’s entry into the sanitaryware industry) is the latest glazing process off-line programming software which minimises overspray and glaze waste; the advanced user interface, instead, allows real-time resolution of any process issues and, if necessary, features a tele-assistance service, ensuring the support of a specialised Sacmi technician anywhere in the world via a simple web connection.

At this 2014 edition of the Rimini-held fair Sacmi will also be reasserting its position in the tableware business via Group company Sama, one of the world’s leading producers of isostatic presses. Extensive experience and know-how have, with TEAM (the business unit born out of close synergy between German subsidiaries Sama, Laeis and Riedhammer, followed by Alpha Ceramics and Sacmi Imola), been transformed into a range of advanced solutions for the manufacture of technical ceramic.

Then, of course, there is the heavy clay industry, currently undergoing a period of profound Europe-wide change. Sacmi has responded to this challenge with ambition by purchasing Vicenza-based Cosmec: the latter specialises in the development of automated heavy clay solutions and is the holder of an excellent customer portfolio in all the key emerging markets where Sacmi already does business and on which the heavy clay sector continues to show signs of dynamism.

To complete this panorama of Group goods and services, plenty of other new developments will be on show, such as advanced EkoSort sorting systems from the Nuova Fima brand and Sacmi Riedhammer-made Whiteware kilns with high-efficiency Reko burners. Another Group company with a strong focus on consumption control is Sacmi Forni, which will be showcasing its EMD (Energy Management Device), a system that gathers kiln electricity and fuel consumption data and makes it available on mobile devices (iPad etc.). Last but not least, visitors can take a close look at the moulds made by Mold&Dies which, with over 15,000 of them installed worldwide, is perfectly placed to celebrate 50 years of doing business.

A Group, then, that looks to the market with confidence thanks to decades of experience in multiple industries, continuous attention to product and process innovation, plus far-reaching after-sales services in the over 25 countries where Sacmi has production and sales facilities.
