Ariane Fine Porcelain, from “start up” to pivotal player on the Indian market

Part of the Umberto Ceramics Group, the company has already installed a complete Sacmi-supplied tableware plant, with plans for further expansion as early as 2015

Ariane Fine Porcelain is a member company of the Umberto Ceramics Group. An absolute “new entry” on the Indian tableware market, yet already – only months after its launch – one of the country’s most advanced, dynamic businesses. This is also the result of an important partnership with the Sacmi Group, which, in 2014, supplied a complete tableware plant that offers prospects for further expansion in 2015.

A good 35,000 square metres of manufacturing floor space and a plant that, at full capacity, can make 15 million pieces of tableware a year: Ariane Fine Porcelain products are aimed at the high end of the market and are, more specifically, intended for major restaurant and hotel chains. This is thanks to the outstanding output quality provided by new Sacmi-supplied isostatic presses, “equipped with the best, most modern technology currently available on the market”, acknowledges the Indian company. To complete the plant there is an automatic cup manufacturing line with a modern pressure casting unit, a high efficiency roller kiln and an automatic piece glazing booth: for the most part, these are the first such machines to be installed in India.

A huge success for Umberto Ceramics that, with the Ariane Fine Porcelain project – in which it has invested 30 million dollars – aims to reinforce its position in the ‘hospitality’ industry (hotels, restaurants, retail, etc.), both in India and internationally. The goal is, within two years, to export at least 60% of output while offering a high-level response to the needs of the internal market, which currently has to import most top-quality items. The five-year plan is even more ambitious, with this Indian company aiming to gradually boost output capacity to 40-45 million pieces.
