Arwana: ‘best customer’ at Cevisama 2010, Valencia

Sacmi’s partnership with Indonesian ceramic giant goes from strength to strength

First, a top-flight supply that consolidates the industrial partnership between Sacmi and the Arwana Group, one of Indonesia’s leading tile producers and a company quoted on the Jakarta Stock Exchange. Second, an award that Arwana, in the person of its CEO, Tandean Rustandy, MBA, received at Cevisama 2010 – the international fair dedicated to ceramic for architecture, natural stone and bathroom furnishing – as “best customer” in the Asia-Pacific area. This acknowledgment stemmed, then, also from the recent inauguration of the Sinar Karya Duta Abadi plant in Surabaya, on the island of Java: here, two modern lines for the production of new red body glazed tile brands, supplied entirely by Sacmi, have been started up.

The plant, with an estimated output capacity of 21,000 square metres a day, was designed to produce tile sizes from 300 x 300 up to 500 x 500 mm. The line includes an MMC074 continuous modular mill and an ATM140 spray dryer. Then there is the “heart” of the system, the PH3020 hydraulic press, a cutting-edge model belonging to Sacmi’s 2000 series, 2,250 mm wide and able to exert a pressing force of up to a 3,000 tons. Then there is the JMC 285/12.6 dryer, which feeds the tiles to the firing department, equipped by Sacmi with a modern FMC285/111.3 roller kiln complete with MDR high efficiency heat recovery system. An automatic sorting and palletization line completes the order.

This latest Sacmi-supplied addition to Arwana has strengthened relations - and enhanced the already-high levels of mutual satisfaction even further.
