Celima - Trebol is a major manufacturing firm in South America with over 50 years’ experience in the production of ceramic tiles and porcelain sanitaryware plus taps, fittings and other high quality home accessories. With an output of over 2.7 million pieces a year, Celima – Trebol is Peru’s biggest ceramic sanitaryware manufacturer.
At its San Martin De Porres plant in Lima, Celima – Trebol recently completed, together with Sacmi Whiteware, installation and testing of a new automatic glazing line with a GA2000 robot.
This new line became operative just a short while ago, about two months after assembly work first began. Tested at the end of April, it immediately started providing excellent results and a great deal of customer satisfaction on account of user-friendly programming; the latter uses the well known self-learning system, which gives immediate implementation of spraying programmes.
The new glazing line consists of a 4-station turret with a Gaiotto 8-axis GA2000 robot, interfaced with a glaze delivery feedback system that lets users set spraying parameters (glaze delivery rate, spray aperture, misting) and personalise them for the different piece models.
The order was completed by an automatic foot cleaning system and two conveyor systems. The latter ensure automatic loading and unloading of the 4-position turret by way of a transfer unit with 3 electrical axes that features encoder-managed control of positioning and safety limit switches plus inverter-managed handling by the production centre PLC.
The production centre is interfaced with an Ethernet to ensure the provision of remote assistance by the Sacmi-Gaiotto assistance service.
