Ceramica Catalano – Italy

New automatic glazing plant

Ceramica Catalano, based in Civita Castellana (Viterbo, Italy), recently purchased an automatic glazing plant. This completely automatic plant consists of two closely interlinked glazing lines. Highly innovative, the plant features two lines that operate in different modes according to the type of piece being glazed. Where Vitreous China (washbasins, bidets, cisterns) items are being manufactured the two lines operate separately; when fire-clay products (shower trays etc.) are being produced the two lines operate in tandem, thus allowing application of an engobe and then a glaze coat. The Ceramica Catalano plant is one of the most comprehensive and fully automated plants in existence, a result that stems from GAIOTTO’s long-standing experience in the industry and its careful nurturing of a union of technical know-how and constant innovation.
