Ceramica Del Conca

Phase II already under way

Following successful completion of the phase one start-up, the Del Conca Group has decided to go ahead with phase two - designed to double plant capacity - immediately. Once again the client has chosen Sacmi machines. Therefore, for phase two, Sacmi shall be supplying a second MTR081 continuous mill and n.2 pressing-drying lines. The first of these features a PH2890 and EVA993 vertical drier, while the second will be equipped with a large tile PH4600 press and, as on the first line, an EVA993 drier. The plant will be completed with a kiln of the latest generation, an FMP250. Phase two of the plant will start producing towards the beginning of June 2001: thanks to the second continuous mill the production synergy between plant nr. 1 and the new plant will be fully optimised, thus guaranteeing a margin of growth for the first plant too. With this new line, in fact, the output potential of the two Del Conca plants will be some eight million square metres of porcelained stoneware/year.
