Ceramica Moma – Finale Emilia

New double firing plant

Ceramica MOMA, based in Finale Emilia, has commissioned SACMI to supply a new production line: this will give the factory an important boost, transforming it into a more modern, higher-performance establishment. The line will produce double-fired wall tiles, a field in which MOMA has specialised for years. Tiles will be moulded in a PH 3020 wide-clearance press, which houses an innovative 20x25 cm 16-cavity die. The plant will also be able to produce 20x20 cm tiles. Other key machines include a 14-metre, 3-level ETP 285 horizontal drier, which will feed the kiln for the firing of the so-called “biscuit”. This is an FMS 267, 102.9 m long, capable of producing 12,000 m² per day. This first stage is expected to be operative by the end of 2002.
