Changes in Sacmi top management

Mr. Cicognani is now Managing Director of the holding company, Mr. EMILIANI is now General Manager of Sacmi Imola

Big changes are under way in Sacmi top management: Giulio Cicognani, formerly General Manager of Sacmi Imola, has passed the baton to Eugenio Emiliani, Manager of the Ceramics&Tiles Division. Mr. Cicognani himself has gone on to grasp the reins of the entire Group by becoming Managing Director of the Holding Hps. In the light of important expansion projects, this re-organisation of the Imola-based giant’s top-level management is essential: total sales, in fact, are expected to rise from about €500 million to around €1,000 million in just a few years. Furthermore, last week saw the launch of an amicable public purchase offer for Negri Bossi. New tasks and responsibilities thus await Sacmi’s key management figures. From now on Mr. Cicognani will largely be concentrating on development strategies for both the Group as a whole and the Holding company which controls 38 enterprises: he will also play a supervisory role in close collaboration with the recently nominated Board of Directors of Sacmi Imola, chaired by Domenico Olivieri. Mr. Emiliani, instead, shall have the task of continuing to reinforce and develop Sacmi Imola’s core business areas, still the Group’s most important source of income. Mr. Cicognani and Mr. Emiliani have already proved that, together, they form a formidable duo: that tried and tested teamwork will ensure that Sacmi’s future is even brighter. Note that Sacmi is, today, made up of four divisions: Ceramics&Tiles; Whiteware, Beverage&Packaging and Food Processing.
