Cooperation continues between RAK Ceramics and Sacmi Group

New Sacmi-supplied robotized glazing station for Sanitaryware tested and started up.

The close cooperation between RAK Ceramics and the Sacmi Group continues as part of a strategic implementation and optimisation plan for the Ras Al Kaiman plant situated in the United Arab Emirates.

The new integrated glazing station (the seventh to be installed in the plant) was brought online with ease and speed in just one month. Tested in November 2013, it immediately yielded optimum results, allowing manufacturing to begin immediately.

The station was made operational so quickly also because of the easy assembly, streamlined start-up procedures and user-friendly Gaiotto robot programming, which allows to import and successfully repeat programmes already used on previous robots.

The new glazing line, which guarantees an output of about 800 pcs/day, consists of a 4-station turret controlled by an 8-axis GA2000 Gaiotto Robot incorporating an integrated glaze delivery control system that allows spraying parameters (glaze delivery rate, spray aperture etc.) to be personalised for the various piece models: all parameters are settable directly via the robot joystick.

With this investment decision, Rak Ceramics continues to focus on improving the quality and reliability of the production process while confirming its undisputed industry leadership.
