Del Conca USA doubles its output capacity

San Marino-based Group once again turns to SACMI to modernise its plant in Tennessee

The new line, ordered just last March by the Del Conca Group as an expansion of its ceramic plant in Loudon, Tennessee, has been up and running since the start of December. This doubling of capacity was executed according to the same technical principles that inspired the first installation: continuous, modular grinding, pressing with fast mould changeover, Nuova Sima storage and sorting, Eurofilter purification systems.

And there’s been no shortage of new features either, ensuring a real time response (or, rather, an ahead-of-time one) to the needs of the American market in terms of both products and environmental protection. Hence the installation of high tonnage presses to extend the tile size range. And an EKO kiln that has self-recuperating burners and features a firing system which, output remaining equal, ensures lower fume flow rates (just one of many technological advantages).

Also deserving of a special mention is the supervision system, again designed by SACMI in accordance with the dictates of Industry 4.0, an area in which Del Conca USA has always been on the cutting edge.

Constant, meticulous organisation by everyone involved, at every stage of the project, has made this doubling of output capacity available ahead of schedule. That’s not just an excellent achievement in terms of investment economics, it’s also, above all, the best possible way of remaining true to the challenging targets set by Mularoni family, the owners of the Del Conca Group: that ambitious business approach has, ever since its founding, been the Group’s winning hallmark.
