Europe’s most important specialist publications visit Sacmi

The organisers of Ceramitec, the Munich-based ceramics fair, were also hosted at Sacmi’s main headquarters.

The meeting held on 17th November with a delegation of industry journalists and the main representatives of the Munich trade fair (i.e. Ceramitec’s organisers) had a decidedly international flavour to it.
To illustrate just how much innovation Sacmi has given the industry the guests were given a tour of the production plants, advanced research center included, and the MUST (Sacmi’s museum of ceramic technology). More specifically, the delegation had the opportunity to see the new CONTINUA technology in action; this is an innovative powder compaction system that allows decoration not only of the tile surface but the entire tile body; randomisation ensures each piece is absolutely unique, just as in nature.
The Sacmi Group will, of course, be at this key German fair with its German subsidiaries – Laeis, Riedhammer and Sama – and the Heavy Clay division; Sacmi, in order to achieve greater market shares, is currently channelling significant resources into the latter. Through Sacmi Forni, in fact, a highly specialised department for the development of tunnel kilns, tunnel/continuous/semi-continuous and chamber driers for the production of all types of brick has been established.
Guiding the visit to the Group’s headquarters was Sacmi’s General Manager, Eugenio Emiliani, who afterwards met with the journalists and representatives of the Munich fair to discuss matters concerning the international ceramic market.
Sacmi has, it seems, been chosen by the organisers of Ceramitec as the ceramic industry’s “capital”: the presentation of the 10th edition, in fact, was held that same evening, once again in Imola.
