ICA, Sacmi hosts the first CEO Forum

International Cooperative Alliance forum held in Imola from 17th to 19th April

Sacmi recently hosted the first global forum for the Chief Executive Officers of the biggest international member-cooperatives of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA).
From 17th to 19th April, European, Asian, Africa and American managers representing 16 of the world’s major cooperatives and federations met up in Imola to discuss globalisation, market evolution and case studies of successful cooperatives.
The cooperatives that took part in the Forum – which together generate sales of over 150 billion dollars – range from industrial to large-scale retail, from insurance to banking, from construction to social services. The three-day meeting included talks from international experts such as Pier Carlo Padoan, Professor of Economics at La Sapienza University of Rome, Ian MacPherson, Director of the Institute for Cooperative Studies at the University of Victoria, and Daniel Côté, Professor of Economics at HEC, the Management School of Montreal. Representing Sacmi Imola were Domenico Olivieri and Giulio Cicognani, President and General Manager of the Sacmi Group respectively.
The ICA (International Cooperative Alliance) has 222 members in 91 countries and is one of the world’s oldest non-governmental organisations.
