Ideal Standard Industriale gets going – Fast

The Orcenico di Zoppola plant doubles output thanks to full automated technology

To jump from an output of 880,000 ceramic pieces to 1.5 million pieces a year is quite an achievement, and one that the Ideal Standard plant in Orcenico di Zoppola, in the province of Pordenone, Italy, is well on the way to completing thanks to Fast (Full automated sanitaryware technology), a new automatic production line for ceramics, especially suitable for bathroom sanitaryware. The prototype, designed, developed and built in just one year at a cost of € 5 million, will not only double output but also reduce waste by 30%. The installation of Fast will make the Orcenico plant an international ceramic manufacturing model and, what’s more, it will allow workers with the hardest and most dangerous tasks to be transferred, following a period of re-training, to other areas of the plant (Source: Sole-24Ore).
