Infracom Consulting founded

New Imola-based technological centre for advanced ICT business services

Infracom, a major telecommunications and IT company, IMA, the world-leading designer and producer of automatic machines for the packaging of pharmaceutical products and teabags, and SACMI, the world’s leading designer, producer and marketer of machines and complete plants for the ceramics, plastics, beverage & packaging and food processing industries, have come to an agreement that has resulted in the founding of Infracom Consulting.
Jointly owned by Infracom S.p.A. (majority shareholder), IMA S.p.A. and Sacmi S.C. (via HPS), each of the contracting parties will incorporate their subsidiaries specialising in the area of ICT services to businesses: Area Partners S.p.A. (Infracom), Info Area S.r.l. (IMA) and Prototipo S.p.A. (Sacmi).
Infracom Consulting has a skilled 230-strong staff and estimated total sales of around 40 million Euros for 2007.
The assets and know-how that each of the three companies - Area Partners, InfoArea and Prototipo - have brought to Infracom Consulting will make it Italy’s principle technological centre in terms of both size and skills in the field of advanced ICT solutions and application consultancy services for the business world.
To strengthen its already-close ties with the economy of Emilia-Romagna, Infracom Consulting will act as a services centre offering consultancy and solutions that relieve companies of the complexities associated with information and telecommunications technologies.
Close relations and teamwork with Group and local companies, especially Acantho, will allow Infracom Consulting to build up its role as an integrated player in which infrastructural, fibre optic network, and data center assets form the core of specific IT-TLC services for each vertical market segment.
More specifically, Infracom Consulting will be focussing on the development of ERP solutions on SAP platforms, on pre-customised models, on control system add-ons, on information system design and development services (also outsourced) and business model consulting services.
From its head office in Imola, this newly-formed company thus provides the entire industrial sphere of Emilia with a skilled interlocutor, enhancing existing best practices between the manufacturing concerns of that area and acting as Italy’s main SAP consulting centre.
