Interpack 2005, Sacmi, the beverage&packaging star

More visitors, especially from Eastern European countries A successful show for the Group

Interpack 2005, the most important international packaging machine exhibition, closed on a high note this year thanks to its record number of visitors and exhibitors (176 thousand from 106 countries and 2,641 from 80 countries – respectively)
The stand set up by the Sacmi Group – and hosting Sacmi Imola, Sacmi Filling, Sacmi Labelling, Sacmi Packaging, Raytec Vision and Benco Pack – was among the most visited especially by industry professionals and customers coming from Eastern European countries. Visitors – however – also came from China, the USA, Mexico and Africa. The exhibited high-tech machinery for the production of caps and for bottle blowing, filling and labelling were judged especially interesting.
At the Duesseldorf show, Sacmi Imola presented a pre-view of its new PVS-1 machine for complete inspection of PET preforms in different sizes and colours (neck 28-38 mm, height 40-160 mm). The new system guarantees 100% inspection of bottoms, sides and finish at a maximum rate of 40,000 preforms/hour, both in line or off line, and either downstream from the press or upstream from the blower, by using a number of viewing cameras.
Sacmi Filling and Sacmi Labelling, too, are attracting more and more attention from industry workers, and were especially successful thanks to the innovating technical solutions offered. Sacmi Labelling is one of the world leaders in labelling today, with its 200 plus machines installed all over the world in just three years.
The know-how acquired over the years and the use of advanced technology have enabled Sacmi Packaging to supply complete packaging and palletising systems suitable for an extremely wide range of products in different industries.
Finally, Benco Pack presented its new range of FFS (form-fill-seal) machines, completely revised by focussing on packaging and product hygiene. The trend is towards the creation of innovating packaging shapes thanks to the sleeve label application device and increasingly widespread automation.  The new products launched by Benco Pack were greatly appreciated for their technological edge - making them even more competitive in well-established international markets as well as in developing markets such as the Chinese, Southern American and South-East Asian markets.
