Investments at Volgograd to renew the sanitaryware production plant

A decision taken to improve the efficiency and performance of the existing production unit.

Volgograd has chosen Sacmi for the development of its market strategies and invests in a new body and glaze preparation department equipped with Sacmi's modern control systems to achieve complete control of production parameters and in a new plaster mould construction department to improve the quality of the moulds and the resulting cast product.

Therefore new models will be created mostly with Sacmi casting machines type AVE040 and ALS150.
These are tried and tested, fully reliable machines which enable Volgograd to continuously improve the quality of its products and, at the same time, reduce the number of unskilled personnel; well-known prerogatives in the field of pressure casting.

A new drying department has also been opened in order to control, in the most thorough and accurate way,  this most important stage of the sanitaryware production process mainly using the heat coming from the new tunnel kiln.

Two Gaiotto glazing cells are employed to glaze a large percentage of the total production thus guaranteeing a high and constant level of efficiency as regards the glazed surface as well as optimizing glaze consumption and the use of human resources.

For the firing stage an investment has been made in the new Riedhammer TWS kiln which is 66 m long and  2700 mm wide with a production capacity of 1518 pieces/day. Above all the kiln guarantees optimum energy savings and elimination of defects due to the uneveness of the firing process; typical problems arising with the older kilns previously installed.

It is clear to see that Volgograd has made hugely significant investments and Sacmi is proud to have been chosen as partner in such an ambitious project. It will be an honour for Sacmi to give Volgograd its full support and professional experience for all the projects it will be involved in.
