The second phase of the new rapid double fire plant at the Keramin Joint Stock Company of Minsk, in Byelorussia, was recently put through final testing. This new line can produce 7400 m2 of 200 x 300 x 7 mm wall tiles per day. This renovation project has allowed Keramin to replace the old double fire lines completely: the latter included old Russian-made roller kilns and driers which were still being used together with now-obsolete semi-automatic sorting and glazing units. The overall result has been very satisfying indeed: on one hand, there has been a considerable increase in both output capacity and product quality and, on the other, considerable savings in terms of natural gas consumption.
