Kalevit and Sacmi, a long-standing partnership goes from strength to strength

New Riedhammer shuttle kiln running at full capacity at the Can plant

Kalevit, a Kale Group company producing ceramic sanitaryware and acrylic bathtubs and shower trays, founded and still headed by the industry’s Turkish pioneer, Dr. Ibrahim Bodur, continues to grow with the Sacmi Group.
This latest installation - successfully tested a few months ago and already boosting output at the plant - is a 126 m3 HWS 15/600/140-G FL shuttle kiln.

The Riedhammer kiln features outstanding flexibility: it is used both for re-fires and first fires of standard article mixes, the cycle lasting 17.5 hours in both processes.
With an effective inlet height of 1400 mm and able to contain ten 6-metre-wide cars, the HWS kiln has a working temperature of 1250 °C: at each cycle some 1,000 pieces are fired, giving a total load of almost 16 tons.
The car handling system features outstanding manoeuvrability: thanks to the 2 kiln doors and the 2 automatic transfer units it is possible to reduce car loading/unloading and car removal/insertion times to a minimum.
