LE PIOPPE ceramic plant

New double-firing plant

The LE PIOPPE ceramic plant of Castellarano, part of the Group which also comprises the S. VALENTINO, NUOVE IDEE, APICE and LABOCER ceramic companies, recently commissioned SACMI to supply a new plant for the production of first fire “biscuit” material, to be sold to companies which will then glaze it. This plant - wholly SACMI-built from the presses onwards – is made up of 2 PH 1500 presses, 1 EVA 712 drier (suitable for small tiles), a maxicompenser link with the kiln and a 70-metre FMS 2070. The outgoing product is packed in strap-sealed boxes automatically. This high performance plant will produce 4000 m²/day, continuously. The product range will include 10x10x8.5 cm and 13x13x9 cm tiles using a 44 minute firing cycle. This new technology will allow LE PIOPPE to replace an existing plant with a tunnel kiln and reduce production costs significantly without altering quality.
