Large, perfect and guaranteed by Sacmi

Ventilated façade technology continues to evolve

Efficiency and energy savings are essential aspects of any modern building. Among the technologies that ensure these goals become realities, ventilated facades play a key role. These innovative external cladding systems offer, in fact, clear practical advantages: first and foremost, they let the wall ‘breathe’, ensuring benefits both winter and summer, especially as regards lower humidity levels inside the building.

Thanks also to research carried out by Sacmi Forni, it is now possible to obtain slabs up to two metres long. That result stems from advanced firing and drying technology that no longer uses shuttle or tunnel kilns – which, for several reasons, do not allow the production of large regular-geometry slabs – but roller kilns and driers. Supported on roller units, the pieces are fired at uniform temperatures without undergoing any mechanical stress.

Research into this product has been amply rewarded: Sacmi has been supplying materials to the major ventilated façade producers for some years now, and has, at present (April 2008), no less than 3 plants undergoing final assembly.
