Metalsinter and Sacmi: a successful partnership in the metallic powders sector

January 2011 sees the installation of a cutting-edge 66-ton press.

The new range of MPH metallic powder forming presses from Sacmi Imola is steadily winning acclaim within the industry.

In Powder Metal, more than in any other industry perhaps, technological innovation is the key to successfully satisfying the requests of a market in which there is a growing need for product improvement, such as the increased demand for complex-geometry, small-size multi-level items.

The attentive development of solutions that give real added value, then, blends perfectly with Sacmi’s decades-long reputation of supplying customers with machines that efficiently mix outstanding quality with outstanding innovation.

It is against this backdrop that a new agreement - to bring a 66-ton press with 10 position/force-controlled closed-loop axes to the Metalsinter plant in Seregno (MI) in January 2011 – has been reached. This new machine will allow production of the latest generation of high density items with differentiated thickness of the very highest geometric precision.

The press is equipped with the very latest control systems and innovative Sacmi-patented structural solutions such as the floating bench and concentric-cylinder die-holder adapter, which reduce running costs significantly.

Metalsinter, with over 40 years’ experience, has always striven for product and service excellence. That characteristic has, over the years, allowed them to build up a technological and human capital that makes the company a highly professional, qualitative reference point for the entire industry.
