Modicer doubles output, now to include porcelain tiles

New Sacmi-supplied plant for key Portuguese wall tile company

As of last Spring the Recer Group can count on a new production line. This renowned Portuguese wall and floor tile company – based at Oliveira Do Bairro – has decided to double the size of its Modicer production plant, which produces white body monoporosa with systems wholly supplied by Sacmi.
Now, with the recent installation of a second production plant, the Modicer line will be able to produce not only large-size monoporosa but also porcelain tiles with dry-coloured powders. To this end, Sacmi has supplied Recer with two PH 4900 presses, capable of producing, during a normal work cycle, four 45x45 cm or two 60x60 cm porcelain tiles.

The press is fed by units that dry-colour the spray-dried powder; supplied by Sacmi in collaboration with LB, these units are installed in technological tower-like structures. The kiln, now with a 2670 mm mouth, is 96.6 metres long, the same length as the one installed on the previous line. To complete the plant Sacmi has also supplied two sorting and palletizing lines, one of which can sort and palletize pieces as large as 60 x 120 cm.
