New Gaiotto Glazing Plant for Top Quality at Creavit

An important new Sacmi supply for Turkish manufacturer Çanakcılar Seramik

Much time has passed since, in 1979, the brothers Mithat and Mehmet Çanakcı set up their sanitaryware factory in their birthplace of Zonguldak on the shores of the Black Sea.

Today, with the Creavit brand, the Çanakcılar Group enjoys a 10% share of the Turkish ceramic sanitaryware market and exports to 50 countries 40% of its production of 1.5 million pieces/year manufactured at the production plant in Gökçebey where approx. 500 employees work in an area covering 60.000 m2.

The Çanakcı family also operates in other related sectors including office and bathroom furniture, bathroom accessories, taps, fittings, seat & covers for WC and concealed cisterns.

With the aim of modernizing its glazing department, Çanakcılar chose to invest in a new plant with a Gaiotto GA 2000 robot provided with self-learning programming and the new integrated Mass Control system for the optimization of glaze application. This robot is available with software in Turkish.

The GA 2000 robot is reliable, accurate and efficient and contributes an essential improvement to the quality of Creavit’s finished product. This is perfectly in line with the company’s declared goal of consolidating the success it has already achieved on the market due to its attention to the design of its sanitaryware in Vitreous China and Fine Fire Clay.

Further distinctive features of this glazing plant include the 2 WC siphon glazing machines and, in particular, the system for total glaze recovery thanks to the use of a glazing booth with dry filters.

For Çanakcılar Seramik the minimization of glaze wastage and the reduction in contamination of the washing water of the glazing booth, combined with the improvement in work conditions, are fundamental objectives to be achieved since the company has always been active in the field of sustainable production and is careful to be socially and environmentally aware. In fact, within the ceramic plant premises the manufacturer has set up a zoological garden and archeological museum which are both open to visitors from the local community.
