New sorting department by Sacmi Automation at Ceramica Marazzi

Global sorting and palletizing line installed at the new technical granito plant

This new line, a Global model with double-arm stackers, was recently installed and started up at the long-standing Marazzi plant in Sassuolo: it offers extreme flexibility, especially as regards the range of sizes produced and the packaging technology. The latter, in fact, allows the user to choose between - for most sizes and at the customers’ discretion - wrap-around or tray-type packs while also allowing for simultaneous sending of non-packaged stacks to the palletizer. The double packager also uses an innovative box closure system for medium-large sizes which features mechanical buffers that can easily be adjusted to suit tile size; this ensures long-term consistency and precision of the work cycle, long-lasting performance and low-level maintenance.

The Global sorting line, just like the single-arm Master, features direct extraction of pieces from the lateral conveyor belts to the stackers, each one of which is operated by one inverter-controlled AC motor only. Speed (the line is the fastest in its category in terms of pieces per minute) and silent running are just two of the widely appreciated features of this stacking system. Completing the department is the Pick Up palletizer, the advanced, best-selling Sacmi Automation unit designed to handle even the toughest heavy-duty tasks.
