NordCeram of Bremerhaven are renowned for their outstanding technical skills and their superb product quality. In 2013 they completed a major investment that confirms - in terms of technology, performance and tile sizes - a leading role among German manufacturers.
After extensive studies to develop new sizes, specifically designed to supersede the now commodity-level 60x60, the Bremerhaven plant has, in fact, decided to invest in a new production line that will allow 45x90 cm and other large formats to be manufactured, sizes that have not previously been produced on the German market.
The beating heart of the new production line is the Sacmi PH 6500, which, with an inter-column clearance of 2450 mm and 6500 tons of pressing force, is the biggest press on the German market. Sacmi has also supplied the relative 19.7-metre long 5-channel ECP285 drier, allowing the manufacturer to make ever-larger, higher-quality technical and glazed porcelain tiles that confer prestige on the brand. The in-line press and horizontal drier also ensure outstanding productivity, allowing the company to take full advantage of the synergies among the various installed lines and thus provide product mixes that always comply with the highest quality standards. Additionally, energy consumption (i.e. electricity for the press, gas for the drier) has been reduced significantly.
On a market where innovation is essential to success, NordCeram have, thanks to strong support from advanced Sacmi technology, deservedly succeeded in joining the high-end market segment. And in doing so they have further strengthened their partnership with Sacmi, which sees the quest for quality and excellence as the best way to win over markets.
