Objective China: Sacmi at CBST 2011

In the spotlight, the ARENA RF, developed at the Sacmi Nanhai facility to meet the specific needs of the Chinese market.

When it comes to internal dynamism and growth potential, China is undoubtedly one of the world’s key markets. Sacmi has had branches for years in this country and Sacmi Nanhai is a reference point for the entire Asian area. And it’s at Sacmi Nanhai that one of the latest plant engineering solutions has been developed; this will soon be showcased by Sacmi at the coming CBST (China International Beverage Exhibition on Science & Technology, to be held from 6th to 8th November at Shanghai in the Expo halls).

The latest in an already wide range of Sacmi labellers featuring roll-fed technology, this latest solution, called ARENA RF, has been developed “in China for the Chinese market”. The main plus of the ARENA RF is – in addition to the general advantages of roll-fed sleeve technology offered by the entire OPERA series, to which the ARENA RF belongs – extreme flexibility, which allows the user to manage different materials and bottle types at hourly output rates of up to 36,000 pieces and also allows extremely fast label and/or size changeovers
.
Sacmi will showcase at CBST 2011 also the innovative CHS vision system – which inspects caps on and off-line. A flexible, modular system that can inspect up to 2,000 pieces a minute and be smoothly integrated downstream from both injection presses and machines using modern compression technology.

It goes without saying of course, that the CCM48 SB will also be at Shanghai: this 48-cavity single-piece cap press offers exceptional cycle times (1.8 sec), excellent energy saving performance and, of course, very high output rates that can reach a maximum of 1,600 caps per minute. In short, the world’s most competitive cap production solution for mineral water bottling, hot filling and aseptic cold filling (CAF). Suitable for making all the main formats on the market, the CCM48 SB is particularly suitable for the production of single-piece HDPE (high density polyethylene) caps of the S29W3 type with a diameter of 29 mm and weighing just 1.2 grams.

All the innovations presented at CBST can be smoothly integrated on both existing plants and with other Sacmi brand products, making Sacmi an effective “sole provider” of “turnkey” beverage plants that handle everything from bottle production, filling, capping, and labelling to end-of-line production. Without, of course, forgetting design, another distinctive “Made in Italy” added-value feature that Sacmi offers its customers right from the design stage.
