For the first time since 1982 the four-yearly convention that brings together the world’s national powder metallurgy associations is returning to Italy.
The Powder Metallurgy World Congress & Exhibition, to be held from 10th to 14th October 2010, provides an up-to-the-minute overview of the technological innovation being applied in the metallic powder pressing field; it also provides insightful assessment of the current global market, which, after two years of slow performance, is now showing signs of recovery.
What better opportunity, then, for Sacmi to present - at Stand A in the Fortezza da Basso in Florence - the innovative MPH metallic powder press line?
Two years after the purchase of Matrix, investment in cutting-edge assets and highly skilled human resources, together with sharp motivation, efficient organisation and a natural flair for technological excellence, has allowed Sacmi to strengthen Matrix’s twenty years of experience with a new range of presses; that range, which features advanced technical solutions, has already aroused considerable customer interest.
Incredible precision, uniform density, user-friendliness, together with patented innovative solutions such as the floating die holder bed, provide considerable reductions in machine size, set-up times, energy consumption and mould costs.
Throughout the event, Sacmi is arranging an Open Week during which visitors will be get the chance to see a 66-ton press and a 200-ton press in action; each will be automated and working with a dedicated line sorter. Moreover, for Thursday 14th October a guided tour of Sacmi Imola (departing from Florence) has been organised as part of the official World PM 2010 programme.
The PM 2010 programme also includes, on the morning of 13th October, a talk by Dr. Ilaria Cristofolini of the University of Trento on the “Optimization of powder compaction to improve the dimensional and geometrical characteristics of PM steel parts”; her talk will illustrate the results of a joint research project carried out in Sacmi together with the University of Trento, Hoganas Italia and Sinteris Srl.
In addition to technological innovation - reinforced by close teamwork with major Italian universities and research centres - Sacmi offers its customers comprehensive process and product know-how, full consultancy services and an assistance network in 24 different countries.
