Philkeram Johnson doubles up with Sacmi

New production line at the Salonicco plant running in August

Technicians are hard at work at the Philkeram Johnson plant in Salonicco (Greece). The company, in fact, is in the process of completing installation of a new Sacmi-supplied production line that was delivered at the beginning of 2008. Called J2, it promises to double the output capacity of the existing module via the addition of a PH 3800 press and a doubling in size of the drier-kiln department.

Philkeram Johnson’s policy of progressive plant modernisation through its partnership with Sacmi thus continues apace. Re-organisation began in 2003 with the installation of the first line (J1), which provided this Greek company with two PH 3800 presses, an ECP 285/14.1 drier and a FMS 255/94.5 kiln, complete with a further JMS 255/8.4 drier immediately upstream from the kiln.

The Sacmi - Philkeram Johnson partnership continues to go from strength to strength then: Salonicco will, once fully operative, be able to count on a daily tile output capacity of 14,000 square metres – double the present capacity. The company belongs to a Group, Norcros UK, which has chosen Sacmi for its most important investments not just in Greece but also the UK, South Africa and India.
