Researchers from overseas to study the Sacmi cooperative system

North American fact-finding team targets Imola to discover the secrets behind Sacmi’s success

American experts will soon be studying Sacmi as a model of successful cooperative organisation. For the fourth year running, a joint American-Canadian delegation will visit the production plants of the Imola-based company as part of the “Economics and management of co-operative enterprises: the Emilia-Romagna model” training course organised together with the Economics faculty of the University of Bologna.
On 20th July, at the end of their three-week tour of the Emila-Romagna cooperative heartland, cooperative/tertiary sector researchers and local/federal public administrators will visit the plants, workshops and laboratories of Sacmi Imola. And, more importantly, Sacmi’s top managers will have an opportunity to present the company, its formula for success and illustrate the way in which it forms close ties with the host community.
