Riedhammer joins the Sacmi Group

Press Release

Since the end of April 2004 the SACMI GROUP, the world’s leading producer of ceramic production plants and machines, has had a 90% share in Nuremberg-based RIEDHAMMER, in which it purchased a share of 30% in 2003.
RIEDHAMMER, with over 6,000 plants installed all over the world, has been producing kilns for the ceramic industry since 1924. This historic German brand specialises in the firing of sanitaryware and tableware yet also designs kilns for other products, from technical ceramic (refractories, insulators, electronic components made of graphite) to carbon (e.g. anodes, cathodes, electrodes) and recycled items (batteries, non-ferrous metals).
This new ownership scenario has generated a business plan that aims to improve RIEDHAMMER’s products and services even further. Re-organisation – already well under way – is steadily giving this German company greater flexibility, dynamism and competitiveness to meet the challenges of the ever-more complex world kiln market.
A key feature of the plan is close collaboration with SACMI FORNI, the SACMI GROUP company that designs and constructs kilns for the ceramic industry.
All this means advantages for the customer in terms of design quality, technological innovation and service plus a wider product range and incorporation of “tailor-made” solutions to suit customers’ specific needs.
Now, more than ever, the SACMI GROUP is a multi-specialist partner, capable of providing cutting-edge machines for every stage of the production process, from raw materials to the finished product. Characterised by steady growth, the Group already has a strong foothold in Germany via its other plant engineering companies.
The new RIEDHAMMER Board of Directors has reconfirmed Peter Riedhammer as company chairman.
