Sacmi - changes and continuity at the top

Eugenio Emiliani becomes Group General Manager, Pietro Cassani is new General Manager of Sacmi Imola

It is Eugenio Emiliani, presently General Manager of Sacmi Imola, who will become the new General Manager of the Sacmi Group and Managing Director of H.P.S., the holding company which controls the various companies within the Group.
Giulio Cicognani, who has been at the head of the Imola Group since 1989 but has now reached retirement age, leaves the post to Emiliani – GM of Sacmi Imola for the past six years and an integral part of the group for more than 30 years.
Giulio Cicognani will continue to give his professional and vital contribution to the Group’s Executive Committee dealing with opportunities for expanding new businesses, particularly in connection with packaging.

The changes in Sacmi’s top management, which nevertheless signal continuity within the company, are completed by the appointment of Pietro Cassani, already General Manager of the Sacmi Whiteware division, as General Manager of Sacmi Imola. Specialized in business administration, Cassani started at Sacmi in 1993. He subsequently covered the roles of Managing Director of the Concorde group and Managing Director of Ceramica Keope. From 2003 to 2006 he held the position of Managing Director of the System Group.

Sacmi’s Board of Directors has entrusted its new top managers with the responsibility of running the Cooperative in line with its mission statement and with the values which have always distinguished the company at an international level. Innovation and knowledge have always been, and will remain, Sacmi’s greatest assets allowing the company to maintain its position as world leader in the design, production and sale of machines and turnkey plants for the ceramics, plastics, beverage & packaging and food processing industries.

The Sacmi Group, which is today made up of four divisions - Ceramics&Tiles;  Beverage&Packaging, Food Processing & Inspection Systems, Plastics – composed of almost 80 companies, more than 3,700 employees, a net worth of 510 million and turnover of more than 1000 million euro, is therefore ready to continue the process of production diversification and internationalization which has been undertaken with such success for many years. The new management will also continue to promote social responsibility which, for Sacmi, means conducting business by contributing to an increase in the quality of life of its employees, guaranteeing job security and encouraging sustainable growth whilst protecting the environment.
