Sacmi, the ideal partner for the beverage industry

Sacmi flies to Chicago’s Pack Expo to present its solutions that transform raw materials into a finished bottle for the end user.

Sacmi is the exclusive supplier of systems and solutions for the beverage industry and developer of proprietary technology for all the key plants used in the process. One of these technologies, SBF, is used for bottle blowing. SBF, meaning Stretch Blow Forming, is a machine that blow molds PET bottles with fascinating technical innovations. The SBF machine is capable of producing 80,000 standard format half liter bottles in an hour.

This will surely be the star of Pack Expo in Chicago, the international exhibition dedicated to the world of transformation and packaging, which will take place from October 31 to November 3 in the city with the highest population of all Illinois.

Thanks to the SBF, Sacmi can be considered the ideal partner for any type of bottling line, by adapting blowing productivity to filling, while various solutions, such as methods of inserting pre-forms into the molds and managing compressed air for blowing, provide numerous advantages in terms of process efficiency and consumption optimization. Among the main “pluses” provided by Sacmi’s SBF is the possibility of being integrated upstream with PAM (Pre-form Advanced Molding), Sacmi’s exclusive system for producing compressed pre-forms. The bottling machines can then be installed downstream from the SBF.

Visitors to the exhibition can also admire a new state-of-the-art machine that inspects caps, the CHS series. This machine was created for installation on compression and injection lines downstream from the new linear system for orientating ORCS 160 caps. The new linear system for orientating ORCS 160 caps can be found upstream from the CHS at the exhibition.
Some of the main advantages offered by the ORCS system are efficiency, reduced consumption, silence and flexibility.

Finally, Sacmi’s stand (South S-412 hall) will host the CCM64M press, equipped with a mold that can produce ML26-W single-piece caps in high density polyethylene (HDPE) with diameter of 26 mm and weight of only 0.95 grams. This is an opportunity to demonstrate not only the impressive performance of this press with 64 cavities, but also to show visitors the more general advantages this press provides for “continuous compression molding,” i.e. low consumption, reduced cycle times, limited maintenance costs and high reliability combined with high flexibility.

All this results in many good reasons to visit Sacmi’s stand at the exhibition in Chicago, the last of which is the Sacmi Group’s proposal of becoming a “solution provider,” in terms of beverage & packaging, for complete lines. This includes services for making prototypes of finished products in order to develop ideas and designs in collaboration with its current and potential customers. It’s a service that goes far beyond the supply of machines and plants. In this manner, Sacmi can find the best solution for transforming raw materials into PET bottles for the end user together with the customer, developing complete solutions ranging from caps and pre-forms to bottle blowing, to labeling and palletization phases, always taking into consideration eco-sustainability requirements for packaging, production and stocking efficiency with close attention being paid to design.
