Sacmi Heavy Clay now stronger in South America

Productivity and process automation: new order for Canteras Cerro Negro

A key player in Argentina’s ceramics industry and already an established producer of roof, floor and wall tiles. This, then, is Canteras Cerro Negro, which has extended its product range thanks to Sacmi Heavy Clay.

Part of the Crh Group, the company will dedicate one of the two existing lines at the Olavarria plant to wall brick production. The line - fully renewed thanks to Sacmi - will have an annual output capacity of 150,000 tons and will become operative by the end of 2012.

Automated plant solutions have, thanks to Sacmi-Gaiotto, ensured perfectly smooth integration of the new production line into the existing facility, giving outstanding flexibility, thanks also to the aid of robots that handle both wet and dried products and complete the fired product pallets. A new plant, then, that offers one of the industry’s best examples of high-grade process automation - and clear confirmation of the strong presence of Sacmi Heavy Clay in South America.
