Sacmi Heavy Clay strengthens its position on the Belarussian market

New tunnel kiln sold to the Keramin Joint-Stock Company

The Minsk-based Keramin Joint-Stock Company, which specialises in the production of ceramic tiles, sanitaryware and bricks, has chosen the Sacmi Heavy Clay Division as a strategic partner; the Division, in fact, is currently supplying them with a new tunnel kiln having an annual output capacity of 35 million 1.0 NF bricks and hollow blocks.

The new kiln - 4.65 m wide and 113.05 m long kiln, pre-chamber included – is made of materials that are particularly resistant to chemical aggression, corrosion and high temperatures; it can contain up to 40 cars, including the one in the pre-chamber. This latest kiln will join existing ones of similar size and piece loading capacity, thus allowing existing car loaders, stackers and cars themselves to be used with the new machine.

In the final firing zone there are special units that allow the materials to be fired in a reducing (flashing) atmosphere, thus allowing for random variation of product colour.

The kiln has also been equipped with devices for the recovery of hot air from the cooling zones, allowing it to be used as combustion air for the burners and so ensuring significant energy savings.

Delivered at the start of January 2015, this kiln will replace an existing one and raise output capacity while improving quality.
