Sacmi Packaging, stronger end-of-line performance with Robopac

A new cooperation agreement entrusts international firm Robopac with Sacmi Packaging's end-of-line automation and logistics operations. Paolo Mongardi: “This strategic agreement strengthens the quality of our technological solutions and allows us to focus our attention and resources on core activities”

Sacmi has decided to strengthen its technological position in the end-of-line field by selecting Robopac as its partner in a cooperation agreement that concerns Sacmi Packaging solutions for several industries. More specifically, it refers to end-of-line automation for the Tissue, Food, Beverage, Home and Personal Care sectors.

Founded in 1982, Robopac is the world leader in stretch film winding technology. It produces over 7,000 machines a year, 70% of which are exported to the main international markets. Hence Sacmi's decision to enter into this agreement, which aims to strengthen its market penetration capacity by partnering up with a firm that operates right on the cutting edge of technological development and leads the way in end-of-line automation and logistics. This will also allow Sacmi to focus its resources oncore sectors/operations, especially in the Beverage business.

“Entrusting Sacmi Packaging's end-of-line activities to a partner of acknowledged excellence”, points out Paolo Mongardi, President of Sacmi Imola, “will allow us to focus attention and resources on Beverage plants and machines (bottling, labelling, container production, cap and preforms), an area that has enjoyed steadily growing market shares and seen Sacmi's visibility on world markets increase significantly. This has led to a marked improvement in quality on the logistics and handling fronts; now, this partnership with Robopac aims to create added value on the global market for both companies”.

The new solutions that stem from the agreement will also benefit from Robopac's technological-manufacturing hub in Castel San Pietro (Bologna), located right at the heart of Italy's 'Packaging Valley': the hub also includes the TechLab research facility, dedicated to continuous innovation in the packaging, palletized load stabilisation and customer consultancy fields.

“We're delighted that Sacmi has chosen us for this new partnership”, stated Enrico Aureli, CEO of Robopac. “It highlights, once again, that our company is a global player and a much-appreciated technological partner in the logistics and end-of-line fields, providing solutions that maximise manufacturing plant performance. Moreover, thanks to the technology in the Sacmi Packaging world, we're set to strengthen our end-of-line range, especially in the Tissue, Food, Home, Personal Care and Beverage sectors”.
