Sacmi at the Afyon Kocatepe University from 22nd to 24th November

Turkish Ceramic Society calls arts, science and industry players to conference

Over the last few years SACMI has implemented an ambitious project by the name of H.E.R.O. (High Efficiency Resource Optimizer): as part of a wider industrial policy aimed at combining efficiency with environmental friendliness, the special applications developed on the H.E.R.O. project allow significant energy savings on key ceramic manufacturing machines.

Within this context, then, the Turkish Ceramic Society and the Afyon Kocatepe University have organised the VIII Ceramic Congress under the working title “Sustainability: alternative raw materials, energy, water”.

Sacmi will be giving two talks at the event: “Cost reduction and energy optimisation on sanitaryware kilns” by Jörg Ridder and “Water savings and glaze recovery on glazing lines with dry filtration” by Andrea Cannella.

Within the context of Turkish sanitaryware production, these subjects have never been so topical.

Energy savings, in fact, are looking increasingly attractive in a country where the cost of gas and electricity is rising fast and ceramic companies are constantly on the lookout for ideas and technologies that successfully combine energy savings with product and process innovation, quality and output flexibility - all in compliance with ever-stricter environmental regulations.

For Sacmi, this event is an important one, a step towards further strengthening our market leadership in a vital country such as Turkey, which has a long-standing history of looking to the Group as a key provider of ceramic technology and culture.
