Sacmi launches innovative E85 burner

The new burner model running on environmentally-friendly fuel is ready for the market

Sacmi’s latest proposal, just launched on the market, combines the trademark high performance of  all their burners with the pressing requirement to save energy and minimize the impact of emissions on the environment. This twin objective is superbly achieved in the new 40 KW burner which functions with E85 fuel.

E85 is made up of 15% oil and 85% bio-ethanol and can be properly considered an environmentally-friendly fuel since the carbon dioxide produced by the combustion process is absorbed by plants from where the bio-ethanol is extracted. Thanks to research carried out by Sacmi, E85 can now be used for applications in the ceramics industry; from sanitaryware to tiles and even tableware.

This innovative burner guarantees excellent performances and can be considered the first model in a highly promising series. Sacmi’s aim is, in fact, to quickly reach the point of being able to set up more powerful burners which can be applied in larger kilns. A large part in this project is played, of course, by Riedhammer - the Sacmi Group company specialized in the production of kilns for sanitaryware, tableware and technical ceramics  - which is in a position to fully exploit the potential of this new burner for future initiatives.

This new solution proposed by Sacmi falls within the sphere of the H.E.R.O. (“High Efficiency Resource Optimizer”) project developed by Sacmi with the aim of pairing top production performances with reduction in energy consumption and optimization of energy resources. The H.E.R.O. project involves all phases of the production process – from kilns to presses, from driers to glazing and decoration stations – and guarantees an energy saving which can even reach a proven 20-30 percentage points. This brand new Sacmi burner therefore represents a further unique opportunity for manufacturers from an industrial, economic and ecological point of view especially in consideration of the increase in state-funded incentives for using E85 in industrial applications.
