Sacmi mills: productivity and energy efficiency

Emilceramica chooses the MMC 092 to boost capacity at its Solignano plant

A Sacmi MMC 092 mill was recently installed with success at the Solignano plant (Castelvetro Modena) of Emilceramica. This new modular mill, which will boost grinding department output, is part of the first stage of a plant investment plan that aims to increase output capacity and upgrade technological performance so as to respond to the challenges of the modern market.

The key strong point of this machine is flexible module management: being able to control the speed of each mill module separately means greater overall grinding efficiency, which translates into a general increase in production efficiency. In other words, energy consumption being equal, the mill can produce up to 15% more than a traditional mill of the same effective volume.

Emilceramica made its decision because of the advantages offered by these specific techniques. Founded in 1961 – and now a large industrial group with consistent shares in firms that sub-supply products and services to the ceramic industry – Emilceramica’s mission is to achieve outstanding product quality while implementing environmentally-friendly production processes and using low-consumption, high-efficiency machinery: such as the Sacmi-built modular mill, which, besides Emilceramica’s investment decision, is generating a lot of market interest, to the extent that traditional mono-cylinder mills are, in future installations, likely to become outdated altogether.
