Sacmi to take centre stage at Cevisima

Sacmi's best ceramic technology encounters the Industry 4.0 approach to production line management

The 'temple' of European ceramic excellence,Cevisama 2018 (Valencia, Spain,5-9 February) will see Sacmi play a starring role with a 600 m2 stand (Hall N2-P6, stand F149). Here, over 80,000 visitors will have a great opportunity to get a close look at Sacmi's latest smart digital decoration solutions.

Pride of place goes to the DGD Digital Drawer, the innovative press loading system that lets users exploit the full potential of digital double filling, even on standard formats. The new Sacmi DiGiDrawer combines, in fact, the advantages of traditional pressing with digital technology to obtain complex effects that are no longer restricted to pre-defined patterns. Moreover, the system works independently of tile size.

Alongside the new DiGiDrawer, Sacmi will also be showcasing a complete range of digital decoration solutions that include the DHD 1208-D module with Dimatix technology and new wet decoration control software.

The same DHD module was recently incorporated on theCONTINUA+ line to create the world's first Smart Tile Line; complete and fully integrated, the latter performs every stage of manufacturing, from the raw materials to the final digitally decorated (wet or dry decoration) slab. This revolutionary process will play a central role at the fair (illustrated on an eye-catching video wall, to be projected for the entire duration of the fair), being displayed alongside other solutions that aim to maximise the potential of theSacmi smart factory in terms of 4.0-oriented automation and logistical efficiency.

Also on show will be the new DDG 075 for dry raw materials. This lets users apply various types of ceramic powders with very broad particle size, moisture content and colour ranges.

Last but not least comes Flawmaster, the top-of-the range automatic inspection system developed by Nuova Sima Surface Inspection. Easily interfaced with the H.E.R.E. (Human Expertise for Reactive Engineering) plant supervisor, the Flawmaster is the veritable hub of Sacmi-guaranteed total quality control. Designed to operate directly on the line, it detects every possible on-slab defect.

Yet the scope of this Spanish fair extends well beyond tiles. The Sanitaryware and Tableware Division's personnel will be on hand to welcome producers and customers alike and illustrate all the latest for 2018, especially the robotized glazing and high pressure casting solutions. The same can be said for the Heavy Clay division, whose sales staff look forward to welcoming manufacturers of extruded ceramic and bricks.

Of course, Sacmi is also renowned for its excellent service. That's why the Sacmi Iberica team, which handles all Group business in Spain, will be out in force to show visitors and potential customers the new Sacmi Total Care approach: this includes services that range from engineering consultancy to spare parts, from worker training to diagnostics and the predictive maintenance of both individual machines and complete plants.
