Sinergia: making the greatest dreams come true

Company sponsors IdeaArgo: disabled sailors to participate in the America’s Cup

The ambition is to ensure that the disabled, just like all the rest of us, get the opportunity to go sailing. And we’re not talking about week-end boating, we’re talking about the pinnacle of match-racing, the America’s Cup, the event that has had the Italians glued to their TV sets as they follow the feats of Luna Rossa in the Spanish waters off Valencia. The means? A book, recently presented by the association IdeaArgo at the twentieth international book fair of Turin. A book that, acting as a sort of “manifesto” for disabled sailors and international athletes, has brought into being a team intending to compete in the next edition of the America’s Cup.

Titled “Argo. A modern tale, beyond sailing”, the book was published with the support of Sinergia spa, a Sacmi Group company specialised in organisational consulting for the supply of administrative outsourcing services designed to meet the customer’s every need. The company is headed by Giovanni Campolungo, also deputy manager of Sacmi Imola. Presented in Turin last 11th May, the book won the praise of some of the athletes who took part in the ParaOlympics – especially Pierangelo Vignati, winner of a gold medal at Sydney 2000 – and was introduced by the President of IdeaArgo, Antonio Spinelli.

“Argo, WeCanUcan” is the association’s slogan. And who knows, thanks to sponsorship from Sinergia maybe they’ll succeed in experiencing what is the greatest dream for a disabled athlete: to participate proudly in international competition alongside athletes who have been luckier in life, and not just in “dedicated” competitions, laudable though they are, such as the ParaOlympics and similar events. Hence the satisfaction of Mr. Campolungo, proud to be presenting the book and proud of Sinergia (now with a renewed website) and the Sacmi Group for their sustained support of groundbreaking social support initiatives.
