Tecnargilla 2006: a resounding success for Sacmi

Marani: “With quality-oriented customers the future looks bright”

Tecnargilla 2006, the 20th edition of the international fair dedicated to technology and machinery for the ceramic and refractory industries, was a highly successful one. Over 30,000 visitors (19,000 Italian and 11,000 from overseas) and 752 of the industry’s biggest companies participated in the event. Sacmi was there, of course, presenting the Group’s latest technological gems.

“Stand attendance was very high”, notes the general manager of the Cercamics&Tiles division, Claudio Marani, “with customers demonstrating both expertise and attentiveness to quality. A professional customer base that allows us to look to the future with optimism”. The prestigious Tecnargilla showcase? “Confirmation”, points out Marani, “of the fact that Sacmi is always right on the cutting edge of the businesses it is involved in, whether it be tiles, technical ceramic or sanitaryware”.

Among the new products on show at Rimini was the Continua line from the Ceramics&Tiles division: Continua is an innovative porcelain tile production process that provides outstanding flexibility vis-à-vis size, thickness, stratification and surface decoration. “At Tecnargilla the line was operative”, explains Marani, “giving visitors the opportunity to see actual production-run demonstrations, generating keen customer interest”. Moreover, the Sacmi stand also featured a ‘gallery’ of the products obtainable with this new technology, including an area where internationally renowned artists presented their creations on Sacmi-made tiles. Last but not least, Sacmi also exhibited the “Imola Series”, a range of high-tonnage presses.

Also on show was the 2850 mm wide twin-channel kiln: featuring superb technical standards, this kiln has also been designed to maximise environmental friendliness and stylishness. Then there was the new sorting line: equipped with the automatic “Everypack” packaging machine and an innovatively-designed automatic palletizer, the line boosts output by 15% compared to previous versions.

Finally the Refractory division presented the new 2,000-tons hydraulic press, featuring high performances thanks to a completely renewed hydraulic system.
