Tecnargilla 2008

A positive outcome for the Sacmi Group

A total of 31,432 visitors, +1.9% growth compared to 2006 with foreign visitors really booming at +11.2%. These, then, are the outstanding attendance figures for Tecnargilla 2008, the world’s biggest and best ceramic production technology trade fair.

Foreign visitors made up 39.2% of the public at Tecnargilla 2008. A significant increase compared to the 2006 edition, this figure once again demonstrates Tecnargilla’s unparalleled power to attract producers from every continent. And that’s quite an achievement, especially when you bear in mind that many markets and, consequently, many ceramic producers are facing a period of stagnation or slump. The number of Italian visitors, instead, dropped slightly.

“It’s a very satisfying result”, comments Pietro Cassani, president of Acimac and managing director of Sacmi Imola, “undoubtedly the fruit of the intense preparatory work put in, especially by exhibiting Italian companies which presented visitors with cutting-edge technologies and solutions that have plenty to offer in terms of energy savings and styling, thus reaffirming their world-level leadership status. It is a result that reflects our efforts and I believe it will give the entire ceramic industry a welcome boost. The foreign visitor figures are really encouraging and clearly demonstrate the attention that the entire world dedicates to our fair”.

“In a moment characterised by unsettled markets and worldwide financial crisis”, adds Claudio Marani, director general of Sacmi Imola’s Ceramics Division, “this fair has been a remarkable success. It has, perhaps, more than any other edition, reflected the industry’s continuous drive towards research and innovation and has generated enormous expectations – as the outstanding attendance figures clearly confirm”.
