The Khan Asparuh Group keeps on growing with Sacmi

New 2.5 million m2/year plant installed at Isperih, in Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s biggest tile manufacturer, the Khan Asparuh Group, has decided to expand operations - with Sacmi, of course. The new floor tile production plant at its Isperih-based factories is, in fact, already up and running and is set to boost output by 2.5 million m2 per year. Yet this dynamic Bulgarian Group has no intention of stopping there: in September another Sacmi-made plant for the production of porcelain tiles will come on line.

By the end of 2005 these new production lines will raise total Group output to 50,000 m2/day and provide Khan Asparuh with a comprehensive product range: from 3x3 cm mosaic to 40x40 cm porcelain tile and third-fire articles. Thanks to new investments, the company has strengthened its hold on the Bulgarian market and now has over 250 sales outlets and a distribution network with warehouses in all of the country’s ten major cities. The Khan Asparuh Group has also chosen Sacmi as a key supplier on two new projects outside Bulgaria: these plants will produce 2.5 million m2 of tiles per year. Fifty percent of the Group’s production is exported, mostly to Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Romania and to ex-Yugoslavian countries.
