A healthier workplace, improved product quality, optimisation of production and environmental costs. These are the main advantages of the ceramic sanitaryware robotized glazing solutions that Sacmi-Gaiotto presented on 3rd March the at Indian Ceramics Workshop, the international symposium organised as part of the international Indian Ceramics fair (2 - 4 March 2016, Gujarat University Exhibition Centre, Ahmedabad).

The presentation, entrusted to the Sacmi Group’s Giorgio Renolfi, focused on the positive effects robotized glazing has on production processes, the environment and working conditions. Current developments are occurring against a backdrop a thousand-plus plants supplied worldwide by Sacmi-Gaiotto over the last 30 years, plants that span from the first fully hydraulic technology to the latest electronically controlled robots. Development is also being driven by fast-growing demand for such solutions in emerging countries, especially the Indian subcontinent where Sacmi-Gaiotto recently supplied dozens of solutions to major players in the local ceramic sanitaryware industry (not just India but also Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka, Thailand and other south-east Asian countries).

So how can we explain such trends? Firstly, robots ensure higher product quality in terms of uniformity of glaze application and repeatability of glazing tasks (freeing such tasks from the influence of human factors). Secondly, there is reduced overspray, a factor that - thanks to patented Sacmi-Gaiotto MassControl® for controlled glaze delivery and the innovative GDA 80 application pistol – offers the triple benefits of a cleaner glazing station (and, therefore, lower costs related to the recovery and disposal of excess glaze), lower consumption of raw materials and a much healthier workplace.
