The future lies in energy efficiency

Sacmi and Cefla Impianti at Tecnargilla in the face of innovation and commitment to environmental protection

Two projects, a single goal:  to concretely meet the increasing need of industries worldwide for “sustainable” production processes both in terms of respect for the environment and cost. Two projects which will be presented at  Tecnargilla in Rimini, October 2 at 4:00 pm, in Sala Ravezzi.

The first, developed by Sacmi, is called HERO: acronym for “High Efficiency Resource Optimizer”, which included implementation of a Research and Development laboratory specifically dedicated to creating innovative technologies able to maximize resource savings throughout all the stages of the production process.  It stems from Sacmi’s company policy aimed at combining energy efficiency and environmental objectives.   The special applications developed for the HERO project permit energy savings estimated at around 20% for most machines.

Then the initiative of Cefla Impianti, firm specialized in the development and control of technological systems for plants such as complex energy production plants, exploring new frontiers opened up by cogeneration. The advantages offered by this technology – which in general terms indicates the possibility to simultaneously produce different forms of energy utilizing a single integrated system –  will be highlighted by Cefla. Based on the calculations made by the company, most ceramic and brick-making industries could save up to 30% on fuel by installing a cogeneration plant.   But that is not all: energy savings, that translates into cost savings,  often allows the plant to be written off in three – four and a half years at most. That is without taking into consideration the environmental benefits in terms of lower emissions of pollutants and green gas such as carbon dioxide, that can be quantified  – considering a standard 1.8 MW plant – in more than 2800 tons per year.
