Two Gaiotto robots for leading Turkish sanitaryware manufacturer

An important Sacmi supply is made to Vitra Eczacibasi which now uses 24 Gaiotto glazing robots.

With an output of almost 6 million pieces per year, the factory at Bozüyük is currently the largest sanitaryware manufacturing plant in the world. With the aim of further increasing production, the Turkish group Vitra Eczacibasi has decided to invest in Sacmi technology in order to improve performance in the plant’s glazing department.

With this objective the group decided on purchasing two latest generation Gaiotto robots, Model GA 2000, capable of providing the technology necessary to ensure the best possible quality of the finished product – an element which has become as important for success in the market – claims Vitra Eczacibasi – as the top designers (such as Ross Lovegrove) working daily to innovate and perfect the range of products on offer. The hallmarks of the GA 2000 - versatility, reliability, precision and efficiency - all guarantee an excellent product finish which is made even more effective by the fact that the machine has been combined with the Mass Control system for optimizing glaze delivery.

Among other advantages offered by the robot it is important to highlight also the machine’s control software which allows the robot to be programmed in “self-learning” mode and to control programming with the “point to point” and “off-line 7WD” systems. The latter “virtual” system, in particular, guarantees the reduction of production disturbances linked to programming and glaze quantities by up to 50%. A new “Plug & Play” system developed by Gaiotto enables the programs to be transferred rapidly from one robot to another using a USB flash drive.

With this order, the Vitra Eczacibasi group, Turkish market leader in the sanitaryware field, has confirmed its faith in Sacmi glazing systems and demonstrated the company’s commitment to strengthening its position as leader on the domestic market as well as further penetrating the international market to which it already exports a full 70% of its production output.
