1/25/2012 Umpas grows with Sacmi Key expansion for the production of porcelain tiles
| |
An all-new line for the production of glazed porcelain tiles, designed to replace now-obsolete systems, was recently started up at the Umpas ceramic plant in Turkey.
This is a new investment for the company, located in the industrial district of Usak, which, in terms of number of factories in the district, has become Turkey’s third-largest ceramic producing area.
The plant consists of two PH3590 presses with relative EVA 793 vertical driers, a combination widely appreciated by Sacmi customers all over the world on account of the resulting high performance and production versatility. Firing is carried out in a 126-metre FMS2850 kiln, downstream from which lie storage systems moved by automated vehicles. Other supplied parts include the universal-base die set, an innovation adopted some time ago by Sacmi Mold&Dies. Line output is 10,000 square metres a day, with low natural gas consumption thanks to the adoption of Sacmi SPR technology on the kiln.
A major investment, then, for Ceramica Umpas, which has once again placed its trust in the Sacmi Group’s experience. |
